How it works

As simple as passing a file from one screen to another.

  1. 1

    Pick the file

Drag or choose from your device, right in the browser. Nothing is sent yet.

  2. 2

    Share the code

You get a short code. Send it to the other person any way you like — no account needed.

  3. 3

    Transfer happens

Both browsers connect directly over WebRTC and the file flows over the air — only between you two.

Privacy

Your files don't sit waiting in a cloud.

The infrastructure helps establish and monitor the connection. File content and names travel through the WebRTC channel between devices and are not stored by Senddfile.

Encrypted in transit

The transfer uses a secure channel (DTLS) while it travels between both sides.

No mandatory login

Less friction: open it, pick the file, send.

No file storage

We don't keep content or names for later download.

For large files

Videos, projects, backups, images, documents, and other files within the browser limits.

For sending fast

No signup, no complex dashboard, no multi-step flow.

For staying in control

The file leaves your device and goes straight to the recipient.

Browser limits

Up to 300 MiB on mobile and 1 GiB on desktop.

The received file stays in memory until download. These preventive limits reduce the risk of the tab closing, but available RAM, the network, and the browser can still affect completion.

FAQ

Quick questions

Do I need an account?
No. The idea is to allow fast transfers with no login and no mandatory signup.
Is the file stored on a server?
No. Content and the file name travel over WebRTC only between the devices and are not stored in Senddfile for later download.
What's the size limit?
Every web browser receives the file in memory. The preventive limit is 300 MiB on mobile and 1 GiB on desktop; it reduces memory pressure but is not a measure of free RAM or an absolute guarantee.
